BRIEF: Boston Bouldering Project held a climbing competition, giving amateur and expert climbers alike a chance at real prizes. They wanted to capture the whole thing as a promotion of their community events. The asks included a shot list that flattered the facility, showed off a sizable and engaged crowd, highlighted the host and sponsors’ logos, and most of all, made the athletes look good!
PRODUCTION: As a climber, I was pretty excited about this one! I got with the setters beforehand to review where climbers’ bodies and eyes would be during each move, on each climb. Then, I scouted out great angles to catch the athletes in motion.
