NORTH BENNET STREET SCHOOL — PORTRAIT PROJECT

BRIEF: North Bennet Street School trains students in traditional trades and crafts — bookbinding, carpentry, jewelry making, locksmithing, and more. The Portrait Project put one student artisan from each of NBSS's eight programs on camera, capturing their work and their story in a single interview-driven piece per subject.

PRODUCTION: Shot in a single day on location in the NBSS workshop. I operated B-cam - handheld and deliberately loose, moving with the subjects and hunting for the small details that locked-off A-cam couldn't chase. Hands gesturing and using tools, animated smiles, motion, all meant to keep the edit lively .
