NOBLE + GREENOUGH — COACH RESOR

DELIVERABLES: 14 minute documentary

BRIEF: Tom Resor has coached girls hockey at Nobles for over 25 years, netting over 800 wins, sending multiple alumni to the Olympics and the PWHL, and earning a reputation that extends well beyond the school. When he retired, a standard highlight reel wasn't going to cut it. The ask was a tribute film worthy of his storied career.

PRODUCTION: A jam packed shoot day covered man-on-the-street interviews, formal sit-downs, an alumni hockey game and current-season. I gathered archival material from the school, from former players, and from Resor himself to give the film a personal dimension. Story was pre-written based on pre-interviews, but the footage didn't cooperate, so I found a different one in the edit: a structure that bounced between Resor and his longtime assistant coach, Steve Cedorchuk. Two legends in conversation, with voices from past and current players woven throughout.
