MASSCHALLENGE — VIRTUAL GALA

BRIEF: MassChallenge's annual gala is the centerpiece of their fundraising calendar — 400+ guests, live winner announcements, and the donor relationships that fund the next cohort. COVID cancelled the in-person event on short notice, but the show must go on.

The ask was to produce a full virtual program that would feel like the real thing.

PRODUCTION: In just a few weeks, I coordinated contributions from more than two dozen participants - past winners, program recipients, executives, announcers, an emcee, and more - most shooting at home. I produced the CEO address and keynote directly, guided self-shooting contributors through framing, lighting, and recording, and edited the whole piece together. Every segment was written and performed as if live, right down to scripted envelope opening. Oscars eat your hearts out. I cut the final 65-minute program to play as a seamless broadcast.
